No not us, Best Buy. When Kotaku received word that Best Buy had plenty 360’s and the shortages were over as Microsoft had promised they didn’t hesitate a second and headed over to their local Best Buy. There the employees told them that they had about 60 in stock with about 20% ghetto packs (better known as ‘core packs’. Hurray!
Now there are no excuses left to not own this masterpiece of sheer gaming pleasure anymore :).

There were 3 cores and 1 premium at my local Best Buy, which is shocking considering this is a very large city in South Florida with the money to spend on it.
@fulgore, ik hoop wel dat je besef dat je al sinds eind 2005 een xbox 360 premium had kunnen heben door bij mediamarkt te kopen, ze krijgen namelijk wekelijks pelets vol met die dingen :P, en ze doen niet aan pre-orders

It’s about damn time.
I live in holland, the southern part, but we have had the xbox360 in stock for months now. Except for the first two weeks, but a Freerecordshop employee (this is the most popular cd/dvd/multi media store in holland) told me that they had not received any, but they did get a plastic (not working) xbox360 and a letter saying that they must say to all customers that it sold out due to very large demand… yeah right!!
At all mayor shops we have xbox360’s piled to the ceiling. nodbody wants it! It’s because you don’t get a free hdd with it or something.
But it was a good laugh, because in holland we had arguments with xbox360 fanboy who claimed that it sold out everywhere in the world!
those noobs!!
anyway, it is a good system, but it is bad to spread lies about it, while hoping that one day it will really sell out!
I would also buy one. I can shop taxfree in holland makro stores, which means that all games are like 45 euro, and that a premium edition is around 300 euro, which is cheap.

But i dont need this, as it is reported that the xbox makes a lot of noise and breaks down very often.
Having said that, i had to buy a new PS2 to play shadow of the colossus because mine broke down
I will not hesitate to buy xbox360 when it gets something like metal gear solid.
Anyway, it is good that the xbox is now available in the usa.! I hope you enjoy the system, and keep the windows open because it will get very hot these days

Heheheh. Yes, it is pretty loud. Mine has never “broken” but locks up occasionally (endemic to all game systems, computers included). Anyone who says the 360 sold out all over the world is either 1. stupid or 2. unaware that Japan even exists (also: stupid) and we will never get MGS4, according to its creator.
We get N3, Blue Dragon, Halo, Lost Planet, DOA, PGR…
E2K says all this about microsoft while using windows xp…….. ironic.
Man they should really stop making the stupid core system, I could see if they had the 40 gig and 80 gig HDD avaliable, which MS should have had availible since day one… THEN the core system makes sense.
But why they continue to market it like they have been is a total mystery, and just plain stupid.
As for the Noise? Im not really sure what people are talking about still, yeah the DVD drive isn’t the quietest drive ever ,but unless you live in a jail cell and have the volume on 1. The sound of the system really isnt an issue, definatly not enought to warrant not buying it.
And for breaking down? I personally know 6 people with a 360, 3 of those are launch systems. Only one has broken down, and I know this guy from work, hes not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He even admitted to me, he had come home a few times and the kids had the dvd cases all over the top of the system while they were playing it. (therefore blocking the air vents - his was horizontal)
All the other 5 are working fine. And 2 of ours have had Hundreds of hours of play on them…. Has it frozen? Yes, but alot less than any PC experiences I’ve had over the last few years, and ANY console of ANY type I’ve ever owned has frozen on me, and anyone who claims otherwise either isnt and gamer or is a lier.
Personally I HATE Microsoft, but the 360/Live is really is a sweet system, spec wise and play wise. And anyway you look at, there is no doubt, that once the 360’s first year of life is over, it will be hailed as the greatest first year line up EVER. Minus all the Call of Duty 2 bullshT that we went through.
I love my 360. It makes me manwet.
