New EA Sports Online Pass Launches Next Month
Electronic Arts have announced that they plan to introduce an Online Pass content system using EA Sports titles. The Online Pass rewards game owners with a game-specific, one-time-use registration code for online services, features and bonus content.

Beginning next month with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11, the one-time Online Pass registration code comes included with each unit sold new at retail. Once redeemed, additional Online Passes will be available for $10. In a nut-shell, this is basically the same VIP Code system currently in place on ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2′ where preferential content is unlocked only for new purchasers. Any gamer who happens to have bought a used copy has to spend even more money to enjoy the same online features as most other players. It’s not all doom and gloom though for the used and EA-abused 2nd hand game buyers - you can sign up for a free 7-day trial to experience Online Pass.
Expect all EA Sports titles released from next month to use the Online Pass content system and international pricing will be announced within territories in the near future.
