Xbox 360 Quick Charge kit reviewed

Somewhere in Xboxic’s ancient history we reported on the upcoming Quick Charger for 2 batteries, and now the time is upon us where the first reviews surface on the web.
Evil Avatar has put one together quickly highlighting the pro’s and cons.

The following paragraph sums up their opinion quite nicely:

While no official price has been set, Gamestop lists the Quick Charge Kit at $29.99. In comparison, you can purchase a rechargeable AA battery kit from any electronics store for under $20. For a full 10 bucks more than the Play and Charge Kit you basically get the ability to charge more than one battery at once as well as the ability to charge your battery 60% faster. For play and charge kit owners most likely this accessory simply doesn’t make sense.

Essentially, this accessory is rather pointless at the given price unless you really really really never want to see a wire near your precious Xbox 360 or have 4 controllers that must always be charged no matter what.

It makes perfect sense as you say if you have 4 controllers in a busy household, for the average one wireless pad owner obviously its not needed, but if you are a heavy gamer with 2 pads being used quite frequently then its a good buy. I only have 2 pads, one being used more than the other, but if i can have a full charge in 2 hours, then ill probs get it.

How about the Play n Charge kit? Do you connect a wire to your 360 when you’re ‘playing n charging’? Do you guys think it’s worth it to buy one, or this new Quick Charge thing? Or nothing at all and keep buying AA’s every two weeks?

I’ve got myself a Play&Charge for both my controllers. If it hadn’t been for a discount I would’ve had one P&C and a battery pack, but 2 P&C’s was cheaper now. I just plug it in when it complains, play wired for 2 hours or leave it plugged in, and enjoy wireless for the next few weeks again.

I have a play and charge kit. I see no need for this charger. I’ve only got one controller. Maybe if I had 4 controllers, it would be a different story.

I have been thinking about buying a wired controller. Mainly because then I could use it on my PC.

You have a $400 game console, just go to Home Depot and buy a 32 pack of batteries for under $10 and don’t worry about it!

Make sure they are rechargeable batteries, with a charger pack, thats what I do… I’m getting this new thing charge kit though, I have 4 controllers, so I think it’s for the best.
