Saints Row 3D Heading To Xbox LIVE Arcade

Danny Bilson from THQ Core Games has revealed that the recently announced Saints Row 3D for the Nintendo 3DS is also making its way to the Xbox LIVE Arcade - and still in glorious 3D!

In an interview with IndustryGamers, Bilson quoted:

“The interesting thing about the game is we were already making it,” said Bilson. “We were already making it as our Xbox Live game and in 3D also. It’s designed for 3D already. So the 3DS version is an incremental cost. It’s not a big startup cost. Anything in a transmedia play has a column called marketing in it. It’s also a marketing tool. So how does that game model for us? I believe it will do great, especially if Nintendo is going to go mature and really do a big mature campaign on it. It’s a killer game. It’s got all the weird humour of Saints Row, and also its existence is part of the marketing plan to sell Saints Row 3.”

Further in the interview it was also confirmed that playing Saints Row 3D will unlock things in Saints Row 3, and vice-versa. Saints Row 3 had missed being shown at E3 2010 this year in order for the developers to get it ready for its first showing at the VGA’s in December.

Saints Row 3 is scheduled for release sometime in 2011, and Saints Row 3D will coincide with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS which hasn’t yet been officially dated.
