Gears of War 3: Fate of Carmine Update

Last month, Gears of War fans were given the option to decide the destiny of the newest Carmine brother set to appear in ‘Gears of War 3′. The decision will be made dependent upon sales of “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” t-shirts and Xbox Avatar t-shirts; a brief update today reveals the current result.

Quoted on the Gears of War page:

After a fantastic debut at Comic-Con 2010 and tons of real shirts and Xbox LIVE avatar tees selling by the truckload, Save Carmine has the lead! That’s right—if things continue as they are, a Carmine will actually survive a Gears of War title. We can already hear the snarling. For many of you, this is simply unacceptable…

The Fate of Carmine campaign will continue until Thursday, September 2nd, 2010. You’ve got two more weeks to swing the proverbial pendulum back to “Carmine Must Die” or to keep “Save Carmine” in the lead. Avatar t-shirts are still available to purchase from the Xbox LIVE Avatar Marketplace, with with all the proceeds going to the Child’s Play Charity.

The trilogy finale, “Gear of War 3,” will release on April 5th, 2011, only on Xbox 360.
