this is total bullcrap!!! its expensive enough! Microsoft is just getting totally greedy.

Just buy a year before Nov 1, silly.

Greedy? How so? It’s gone from $4/mo to $5/mo. GASP!

Its not greed it’s called inflation, xbox live has been around for About 8 years now. I’m surprised the price increase didn’t happen earlier. By the looks of it it’s juat the monthly one in the UK anyway so who cares plus at least they are giving plenty of warning, there is plenty of time to buy it while it’s still cheap.

Bill gates’s bank account must be slipping, so increasing Xbl will help swell the account a little, doesn’t affect me as i cancelled my Xbl this year after blowing £160 on it, for not that much playtime. I decided enough was enough as i play the Ps3 far more online.

wow that’s so smart, seeing as bill gates != microsoft and microsoft != bill gates.

so smart you are.

being as it is, just buy a few years worth of xbl before the increase and you’re set.

But you have also been a PS Fan Boy for some time too, so your opinion is ever so slightly skewed.

I on the other hand ain’t bothered by the price increase one bit, as someone else said, it’s inflation, nothing to do with Bill Gates bank balance.

Inflation??? That’s a 25% increase on the old price…where are you living, Zimbabwe?

It’s not inflation, it’s greed and cashing in on Halo: Reach.

A company maximizing it’s profits?! Noooooooo they really do that?!

Comment by The_Glovner on 2010-09-01 13:13:08 | Reply

MMMmmm, not quite. It’s the first price increase after 8 years or so. So the increase is more truly like:

25% / 8 = 3.125%

Which isn’t that bad really. I know my wages have went up more than enough to cover it so no biggy.

Unfortunatly, this serves the US just right! The US has everything, but pays only a mere fraction of the price of what the EU pays. We don’t have Netflix, nor Hulu, nor Major’s Minute, nor Last.fm, nor 1 vs 100. We don’t get to watch ESPN. In fact, we don’t even have the fricking FREE Xbox Live Game Aegis Wings developed by Microsoft itself!

Comment by The_Glovner on 2010-09-01 13:15:04 | Reply

I ain’t been on it in sometime but last time I tried it the PSN was in a nutshell shit, Xbox Live wasn’t, guess you get what you pay for.

Bill Gates needs a new Castle i take it? WANKER

Comment by Harvey on 2010-09-01 13:27:54 | Reply

This is just pointless, adding a few quid jus makes it even more expensive. Jus ludicrous =[

Comment by The_Glovner on 2010-09-01 13:50:32 | Reply

How is that pointless? Do you have the first idea how a business works?

I’m sure your mum will still pay for it for you.

OMG so microsoft the most wealthy organisations on the planet.Bill gates has more money than would be ever possible to spend in a 1000 lifetimes….and now they want to squeeze even more money out of us WHY???

To say inflation is rubbish….at the current price it is already over inflated 10 times..

GREED GREED GREED

OMG are you really that thick?

“To say inflation is rubbish..”

Okay instead of shouting no, explain your point.

If the price has not changed in 8 years but the cost of everything else has increased then it only makes sense that they have to increase the price at some point otherwise the profit reduce.

If profits reduce in PLC then the shareholders want to know why.

And this idea that Bill Gates raises the price in order to line his own pockets more just goes to show how stupid you are. Comment on business when you at least finish school.
