E3 2006: MotoGP’06 Xbox Live demo online
Just like we expected, the MotoGP ‘06 demo just showed up online. You can find it in the Marketplace in the ‘New Demos and Trailers’ section, or in the Game List, under MotoGP 06 Demo. The download is 882.53MB, and it looks like it’s still going fast with most people. It’s worth downloading, you can check out the content below.
As the title of this post already says, this is indeed a multi (Xbox Live) and single player demo. You can race 2 classes in single player, Extreme 1000 and Grand Prix, both containing 1 track. Both classes also contain a rider each. These two classes can also be driven online with the same tracks and riders.

Weird thing happened. I went to featured downloads and indeed saw the demo. I started the download and aborted it again because I wanted to do the 50% trick (seems faster^^). I was sent back to the featured downloads list, and suddenly Moto GP was gone0.o

After playing this demo, I now remember why it is I don’t ride a motorcycle in real life. Just in one lap, I must have wiped out at least 10 times.
I was psyched to buy this game, but now I am reconsidering.
great tip on finding the demo early in the featured dl section,took me 35mins to dl the whole thing,compared to the 2 hours it took to dl the lost planet demo,which was half the size
I think the game is awesome. Really difficult to turn at first, but just tap the rear break and it should help. Once you start zooming by other dudes and get the hang of it, it’s really amazing. Graphics are tight as well.
I was quite enthusiastic about this game, I downloaded the demo, and was really dissapointed. Not to bad graphics, but the experience of playing it was just… well, lame.
Why do people think the ‘50% trick’ works? dont be stupid. you cant download 441mb of an 882mb demo of data in a few seconds. its a bug on the download part of the dashboard.

The demo: I was unimpressed, seems very buggy (try spectating a race), front wheel glitches and textures pop in and out… Graphics werent really that impressive to me, compared to xbox…dunno why.
Downloading glitch: Well, I don’t know why people think magically that half the file can suddenly download either… however, the only thing I could see this helping, is if your download hangs (even if just for a minute or 10) and it doesnt stop the download (with a message), then restarting it manually would be faster… they (ms) may also have some qos or something going, who knows…
Aaaah damn, I can’t play this game until tomorrow late at night…
@Jmel: Are those demo errors or do you think the final will be this sloppy?
The demo looks and plays very well, however it’s a niche title that doesn’t hold my interest long enough. It took a few races to learn to turn well enough. Online play was fantastic, people just need to learn how to play.
I hsve 1 question, I thought there was going to be alot of demos, not just 3, anyone know if there coming out with anymore?
I downloaded the demo this morning before leaving for work and it’s definitely a purchase for me. Someone mentioned it’s a niche title and that’s very true here. The comparisons to it looking like an original XBOX title are a bit unwarranted i think. The environments are a bit bland and tend to bring down the overall look of the title, but the animations of the bikes and riders is superb. Again, not a title for everyone, but for those into motorcycle racing games, it won’t get any better than this.
how people make a comparision from previous moto gp titles are a joke, i mean they obviously havent played the orignals!! the graphics are so much crisper the bikes and riders look fantastic.
I agree that it’s quite buggy but what a game this is truly nextgen.
I normally find those who says its crap are those who are crap at it and just cant handle 250bhp machines. Its about hitting apex’s and finding the breaking points and once you have mastered that the game rocks.
Best title so far for me on the xbox360.
