Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories priced?

During their conference on the E3 Microsoft announced some new peripherals for the Xbo x360 and PC, but they didn’t specify the prices. Joystiq had a talk with a reliable source from Microsoft. He (accidentally?) leaked some prices about the peripherals.

Thanks to a reliable source from Microsoft, we’ve learned some important details about the new peripherals announced for the Xbox 360, including pricing and a few Halo faceplate (non)specifics. Check out the leaked info and prices below:

  • 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver: $20
  • Wireless Racing Wheel: $130
  • Wireless headset: $60
  • Xbox Live Vision Camera: with headset, one month of Live Gold, and one Xbox Live Arcade game: $40
  • Halo & Forza Faceplates: New faceplates for Halo (with the Master Chief on ‘em, but not Halo 3 specific) and Forza: $20 each
  • 256 MB portable Memory Unit: no official price yet, but definitely not four times the cost of the older 64MB Memory Unit

There is no price information available on the HD-DVD add-on though, but the expectations are that it will cost around the $200

The prices for the Wireless Receiver and the Camera are okay.
But I definitely won´t spend 130$ for a Racing Wheel :)

That’s good news, nice priced cam for the specs :)
Definitly gonna buy that one. Compared to the Joytech Wheel the price isn’t that high, but i wouldn’t spend it either though…

I bet the UK gets screwed over on prices as usual. You’d think you’d just do a currency conversion, but more often you just swap the $ for a £ (so we’ll end up paying £40 for the camera I reckon)

I’m somewhat believing this is going to happen too.
I’m looking out for the wireless headset though, depends on price.

I read on the blog of the German XBox Product Manager Boris Schneider-Johne on www.dreisechzig.net that the Racing Wheel will be able to do Full Force Feedback, but only with an additional power supply.
You can use your Play & Charge Pack for simple gaming though.

Nice price on the camera and wireless headset.

If I bought the camera, does it come with the WIRELESS HEADSET or the headset that everyone already has?

Comment by AutoExec on 2006-05-13 18:18:59 | Reply

Well, considering the camera says it’s $40 and the wireless headset alone is $60, what do you think? ;) Definitely talking about the POS wired headset.

I was a no on the cam before. Since it’s only 40 bucks, i’ll go for it.

I’m not sure about the Xbox Vision cam. The majority of people on my friends list are people I know and see in real life, not sure I’m going to splash out (undetermined UK price) for it.

I’m getting the HD DVD drive and wireless heaset for sure. I may get the wireless gaming adapter for the PC. $20 isn’t bad. There is a slight chance I’ll get the camera if something really cool comes out for it. I don’t want it so I can put my face on some character.

When do they put the drivers on the 360 for my superb Force Feedback Racing wheel for the PC from Guillemot???

That would be awesome. Would save me 130 euro’s and it just kicks ass. Maybe it works already (hope hope :) ) try to connect it somewhere tonight I think. But I guess the drivers won’t be on there too bad
