Game junkies are flooding rehab clinics
Today the Dutch news paper “Algemeen Dagblad” reports that private rehab clinics are filled with gamers. Currently one in three of the “inmates” are gamers. Most of the game-addicts in the clinic also have a cocaine/cannabis addiction.
Some sympthoms of game addicts:
- Only drinking RedBull
- No food
- Up to 12 hours/day gaming
If you can mark each of the criteria with a positive please contact a doctor.
According to Jeroen Jansz, Game-researcher from University of Amsterdam, 80% of the boys (8-18) are playing games, 40% of them are fanatic gamers (average of 4.5H/day) and a small percentage of that are the real addicts.

Cannabis is officially a drug, and theoretically you can go to jail for possession of a small amount. There is however ‘official policy’ that possession of less than 5 grams for personal usage is allowed.

YLA G, that is a ridiculous comment. Cannabis is not heroine, is not cocaine, and other items that aree actually drugs. Cannabs is an herb, mushrooms are a fungi, mescaline and peyote are a cactus. I do agree though that coke and heroine and aderol and DXM, chemical drugs, actual drugs only hurt our world

Fit description. (don’t do drugs though, but red bull / bullit / red devil / golden power / rodeo are my favorite drinks, 12 hr gaming would be nice if i was able to with my other things and i only eat in the morning (fast breakfast, warming up some croisants :P) and fast snack in the evening

I have trouble sitting still for long enough to do all-night gaming sessions. Longest I played at a time was like three hours with Jordan and Moen in COD2 and Uno.
On average, I probably play 1-2 hours per day. Some weeks would be lower. I have some weekends where I’ll play a game start to finish and it takes me 15-20 hours to do so. Other times I could go a week without any play.
I’m not even close to an addict. I don’t like MMO’s. So, that probably helps right there.
When a new GOOD online game comes out i do tend to be on a lot… EG when i got gears, from November to about January i was playing online 12 hour a day easily, te only thing stopping me from doing so all the time is

2. eventual boredom
