Gates tells MTV: no motion-sensing controller

Thank the Lord. MTV, generally the worst place for gamers, had a pretty good interview with Microsoft head honcho Bill Gates who talked about the future of the 360. He alluded to a future handheld computer-like device, and how he was a little wary of motion-sensing controllers.

Thanking God no one suggested a motion controller

Thanks, Sander Moen for finally sending this in.

Little wary of the motion-sensing controller, I would be aswell, just look at all the bad-press Sony got.

MTV = URGE = MS = 360

see the link? ;)

Hehhehehheh.

MTV and Urge provide music content to MS, not game content. MTV has unrivaled access to music distribution. You’re an idiot.

ever thought that Urge is coming to xbox marketplace to?

Something similar could very well happen. Personally I would prefer something more along the lines of iTunes. Buy it once, you’re done, no responsibility to pay every month.

Good! Otherwise my fighter jet would be on a constant 45-degree angle. Who really sits with a controller completely still?

I do want to play that game, though.

Sean, that is a good point, how have they got past that problem? My controller is all over the place whilst playing DOA4

I assume the motion-thing can be switched off, and only used when you really want to concetrate on your hand-moves…maybe while in bed…

Fact remains; people don’t sit completely stationary or upright while playing consoles. Especially now they’re going to be wireless. People like to sit back, relax, and play games.

and it’s not like they’re completely diching motion-sensing…the Vision has a movement sensor as well. Granted, it’s not as evolved as the Wii-mote, it should still be able to give us that possibility.

lol and this is kinda old news ;)

Yeah, I know. We’re still technically in that post-E3 lull methinks.
